Ernakulam is one of the districts of Kerala. It is one of the fortunate destinations having incredible culture and glory. Ernakulam is a developed place. Coconut is bountifully cultivated here. The lower regions of the highland area have teak and rubber cultivation. There is a vast and extensive backwater system touching to the paddy fields which suffers flooding and the water moves with the ebb and flow of the tides. The east part of Ernakulam has dense forests having fauna like monkeys, carnivorous, elephants, bats and insectivorous. It is a ideal place with respect to fisheries support.
How To Reach
By Air
There is Kochi International Airport located in Nedumbassery. It is situated 29 km from the city. You can take flights available to and from Colombo, Dubai, Abu Dhabi, Singapore, Jeddah, Thiruvanathapuram, Mumbai, Delhi, Chennai, Bangalore and Hyderabad to reach at Cochin. After reaching at Kochi International Airport, you can take a prepaid taxi to reach at destined place.
Trivandrum International Airport is located 220 km from Kochi. After reaching at the airport, you can cover your 5-6 hours journey to Kochi by road or train.
By Train
There is train facility is available from Thiruvanathapuram, Coimbatore, Kozhikode, Chennai, Bangalore, Bombay, New Delhi, Hyderabad, Kolkata to reach Cochin. There are two major railway stations at Kochi are Ernakulam Town Railway Station and Ernakulam Junction Railway Station. These are locally called North and South Railway Station respectively. A vast network of Indian railways is connecting cochin to Kerala and other parts of India. One can alos take Konkan Railway train from Mumbai to reach Kochi.
By Road
Kochi is well accessible from all parts of the Kerala state through Kerala State Road Transportation Corporation (KSRTC) service. It is quite good and affordable service. There are numerous private bus and taxi services available to reach Kochi by road.
