Kodungallor town is located in the Thrissur district of Kerala. It is very much famous its pilgrimage centre and is well known as a major tourist spot in Kerala. Kodungallor is located 35 km north of Kochi and Ernakulam. It is elevated 9 m above sea level and 38 km southwest of Thrissur and 45 km south of Guruvayoor district near the sea.

Kodungalloor Bagavathy Temple
There is a believe regarding Bagwathy Temple that it is constructed during the rul of Chera King, Cheran Senkuttuvan. Pepper and turmeric powder are essentials to make offerings to Goddess here. Bharani and Thalappoli are the main festivals held here. After Onam, Bharani festival is the most celebrated festival in Kerala. Bharani festival is related to animal sacrifices.
Cheraman Jama Masjid
Cheraman Jama Masjid is the first mosque built in India. It was built by Malik lbn Dinar in approx. 629 AD. Its architecture is of typical local style. It is said that some original supporters have been buried here.
St. Mar Thomas Church
This church is built in 52 AD when St. Thomas came to Kodungalloor. St. Thomas has established this church. It is the most popular church among Christians in Kerala. St. Mar Thomas Church still have some ancient remains.
Thiruvanchikulam Mahadeva Temple
Thiruvanchikulam Mahadeva Temple is the most aged temple of Lord Siva in South India. It is believed that Lord Siva has lived here along with his family. This temple is related to another south Indian popular temple named Chidambaram Temple. At annual festival, Anayottam means elephant race is held here. Cochin Royal Family( Perumpadapu Swaroopam) consider Lord Siva of Thiruvanchikulam Mahadeva Temple as thie family god.
Edavilangu Sivakrishnapuram Temple
It is an oldest temples in Kodungallur. Main Idols are Lord Siva and Krishna. Now, Cochin Devaswom Board is looking after the Edavilangu Devotees.
