Kottayam is one of the town in the south-central Kerala, South India. Kottayam is the headquarters of the Kottayam district. It is known as the hub of trade and commerce. These boat races includes 500 types of traditional boats of varied sizes. An annual food festival and an annual flower show is also held at Kottayam. By Air
Nearest airport is Cochin International Airport, located 93 km away. This airport operates flights from Delhi, Chennai, Bangalore, Mumbai, Hyderabad, Coimbatore, Kottayam, Goa, Thiruvanathapuram, Agathi, Mangalore, Colombo, Singapore and every international airport in the middle east. After reaching at the airport, one can take a bus or taxi as recommended or one can take a train via railway station at Angamali, Ernakulam Junction or Ernakulam Town. Angamali Railway Station is the nearest railway station to the airport but very few trains stops here.
Another airport is Thiruvanathapuram Airport located 152 km away. It is an entry point followed by road or rail travel to Kottayam.
Some other options include Kozhikode, Chennai, Bangalore, Coimbatore and Bombay airports and further travel to Kottayam by road or train.
By Train
