Parambikulam Wildlife Sanctuary
Parambikulam Wildlife Sanctuary is located in the protected area in Chittur taluk in Palakkad district of Kerala state. This 285 km2 sanctuary is established in 1973, situated between the Anamalai Hills and Nelliampathy Hills in the Sungam range of Hills.
4 different tribes people live here. These tribes are Kadar, Malasar, Muduvar and Maha Malasar. The Union Ministry of Environment and Forest has declared it as a Tiger Reserve as proposed by Kerala Government. It is located at a distance of 135 km from Palakkad town and adjacent to Anamalai Wildlife Sanctuary, east of Tamil Nadu.

Three man-made reservoirs – Parambikulam, Thunacadavu and Peruvaripallam are spread over an area of 20.66 km2 .
Trekking is allowed with prior permission. One can also go for boating at the reservoir. There is a tree house in the reserved forest area in Thoonakkadavu which need to be booked in advance.
